Veehoo Squirrel-Proof Suet Feeder, 2-Cake Capacity with 28% Wider Perch

Veehoo Squirrel Proof Suet Feeder is an outdoor hanging feeder designed to give wild birds access to suet while keeping squirrels and raccoons from reaching it, with a perch 28% wider than standard caged suet feeders and room for two suet cakes.

• 28% wider perching platform — gives multiple birds room to land at the same time.
• Dual-layer metal mesh cage — helps keep squirrels and raccoons from reaching the food.
• Two separate suet compartments — holds two cakes, reducing refill trips compared with a single-cake feeder.
• Top baffle, rust-resistant powder coating, and drainage holes — designed for outdoor use through the seasons.
• Opening lid and removable side hooks — make filling and rinsing the feeder straightforward.

Veehoo is made for people who want to offer suet outdoors while welcoming several birds to feed without leaving the food accessible to larger garden visitors. Its caged design accommodates woodpeckers, nuthatches, and chickadees, and its two compartments mean you can load two cakes at once.

Can squirrels reach the suet inside?

The dual-layer metal mesh cage is designed to let birds reach the food while keeping squirrels and raccoons out. Its openings are 1.5 inches (3.81 cm), sized for woodpeckers, nuthatches, and chickadees but too narrow for squirrels or raccoons to reach through. The wider platform gives birds more room to perch together than a standard caged suet feeder.

• The enclosed feeding area surrounds the suet compartments.
• The platform supports simultaneous landings by multiple birds.

How many suet cakes fit, and what size should they be?

Veehoo holds two suet cakes in separate chambers, each sized for cakes measuring 4.7 x 4.7 x 1.6 inches (11.94 x 11.94 x 4.06 cm). The compartments also fit seed cakes, so either type can be used in the same chambers. With two cakes loaded at once, the feeder cuts refill trips roughly in half compared with a single-cake feeder.

• Each chamber measures 4.7 x 4.7 x 1.6 inches (11.94 x 11.94 x 4.06 cm).
• Suet cakes and seed cakes fit the same chambers.

How does the feeder handle outdoor use and cleaning?

An 11.6-inch (29.46 cm) top baffle helps block sun, rain, and snow, while the anti-rust powder coating and nine base drainage holes support use in changing weather. For filling, lift off the two side hooks and swing open the lid to expose both compartments. The open design also lets you rinse the mesh cage without tools or disassembly.

• The baffle sits above the feeding cage.
• Both compartments are accessible with the lid open.
• The mesh cage can be rinsed in seconds.

This feeder suits bird watchers who want to offer two cakes at a time and make space for multiple small-to-medium wild birds at the perch. Its enclosed, weather-ready design is intended for hanging outdoors, with openings designed to keep squirrels and raccoons from reaching the food.
