How we choose

Shopping for an animal means trusting that a product will suit a creature that cannot tell you whether it fits. These are the questions we ask of everything we list.

Is it described honestly?

We want each product page to give you real measurements, materials and care instructions, without exaggerated claims. If we cannot describe something clearly, we would rather not sell it.

Is it right for the animal it is sold for?

A cage, bowl or toy should be designed for the species and size of pet it is listed under. Where a product only suits certain animals, we aim to say so plainly.

Can it be kept clean?

Bedding, bowls, habitats and accessories all need regular cleaning. Removable covers, wipe-clean surfaces and clear washing guidance count for a lot.

Is it suitable to sell in the UK?

We leave out medicines, pesticide products, electric shock collars and any electrical item not designed for UK mains supply. We also never sell live animals or fish.

And if it still is not right?

Then it can come back to us. Anything unused may be returned at no cost within 30 days, and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 protects you whatever happens. See Delivery and returns.
