StellarOcean Turtle Basking Platform, 10-Inch Wide with 45° Ramp

StellarOcean is a handmade PVC and plastic basking platform for aquatic turtles, with a 10-inch (25.4 cm) wide basking area and a 45° climbing ramp for getting out of the water.

• At least 8 suction cups on the bottom and sides — help hold the platform securely inside the tank.
• Designed for tanks at least 12 inches (30.5 cm) wide and 16 inches (40.6 cm) high — gives the platform room to fit above and below the waterline.
• 45° plastic ramp with extra holes and grips — provides a textured route up to the basking area.
• Extra suction cups included — provide backups for the platform’s attachment points.
• Handmade PVC, couplings and a plastic platform — create a raised basking space inside the aquarium.

Aquatic turtles need a place to climb out of the water and bask, and this platform is made for that purpose inside a suitably sized aquarium. Its ramp and raised platform make the route from water to basking area part of the setup, while the suction cups attach the structure to the tank.

Will this platform fit my aquarium?

It is intended for medium-sized aquariums with a minimum width of 12 inches (30.5 cm) and at least 16 inches (40.6 cm) of height. Suitable tank capacities include 25, 29, 40, 50 and 55 gallons (94.6, 109.8, 151.4, 189.3 and 208.2 L). Check the aquarium’s width, height and water level before choosing it; the water must not fall below the platform’s minimum water level.

• The platform leaves a small gap from the tank wall by design; a tight wall-to-platform fit is not intended.
• Only the product height has two options; its other dimensions remain fixed.
• Handmade pieces can vary in height by less than 1 inch (2.54 cm), without affecting use.

How does the ramp help a turtle reach the basking area?

The platform has a 45° ramp made from easy-to-clean plastic, with extra holes and grips to support climbing. At least 8 suction cups on its bottom and sides attach it inside the aquarium, and extra suction cups are included as backups. The design is better suited to larger turtles and tanks than the very small turtles shown in some product visuals.

• The platform is handmade from PVC, couplings and plastic.
• Its suction cups are positioned on the bottom and sides.

Does the platform need assembly, and how can a turtle get used to it?

Yes, simple assembly takes a few minutes, and an installation guide is included. Turtles can take time to explore a new basking spot, depending on age and species; offering food as a guide may help a shy turtle become familiar with the ramp.

• If the legs are too high, the pipes can be trimmed with a compatible PVC pipe cutter, purchased separately.
• The pipes have a 2 cm diameter, so choose a cutter that fits that size.

This platform suits aquatic turtle keepers with a medium-sized tank that meets the minimum width and height, and turtles large enough to use its ramp. It provides a handmade, suction-cup-mounted route from the water to a raised basking area, rather than a platform intended for very small turtles.
