Can I change the step height?

Yes. The assembled 3-step arrangement is 19.5 inches (49.53 cm) high and can be disassembled and reassembled into two different 2-step configurations, each 13 inches (33.02 cm) high. This lets you choose between the taller arrangement and a lower arrangement for different furniture heights. Assembly instructions are provided; begin assembly from the top.

What are the stairs made of, and how do I clean them?

The stairs use 0.6-inch (1.5 cm) thick particle board, and the step surfaces are covered in 260 gsm faux teddy fleece. The fleece surface is non-slip and scratch-resistant. An extended base board creates a gentler slope for climbing, and a brush is included to remove pet hair from the steps.
