Cats need an appropriate place to scratch, and this post is made for indoor homes where clawing can otherwise affect furniture and other household objects. Its tall format is intended for adult cats, while the paper-rope surface gives them a dedicated scratching area. The design also includes a replaceable scratching section, so the worn area can be renewed rather than treating the entire post as a single-use scratcher.

How does the Necoichi scratching post help redirect scratching?

The post provides a spacious paper-rope surface for scratching and is designed to help protect furniture from claw damage. Giving indoor cats a dedicated scratcher can help reduce unwanted scratching on other household objects. Necoichi’s paper rope is stated to last longer than materials such as sisal rope.

• Offers a designated place for scratching.

Is this scratching post sized for my cat?

At 31.5 inches (80.01 cm) tall, this large version is intended for adult cats. Compare the listed height with the space available where you plan to place the post; the product title also identifies it as a kitten scratcher, but the 31.5-inch size is specified for adult cats.

• Large size.
• Oak color.

What is the scratching post made from, and can its scratching area be replaced?

The scratching surface uses paper rope, and the design includes replaceable scratching posts and a replaceable scratching pad. Dense, fine-grain cardboard is used to provide a comfortable scratching experience while reducing scratching waste. The adhesives are plant-based and free of chemicals; the product is presented as a sturdy, stable place for cats to scratch and relax.
