• Two sides with 12 and 23 teeth — choose a side for stubborn mats or quicker detangling.
• 12-tooth side — works on stubborn tangles.
• 23-tooth side — designed for faster grooming, coat thinning, and de-shedding.
• Sharp inner blade edges and rounded outer edges — a design intended to be safer than traditional sickle-shape mat combs.
• Non-slip, ergonomic handle — gives you a secure, comfortable grip while grooming.
• Stainless steel teeth — made for repeated grooming and designed to last for years.

Long and dense coats can develop mats and tangles that need focused grooming. This tool is made to help break up matted hair while also serving as a de-shedding tool and undercoat rake. Its two-sided layout gives you options for different coat-care tasks, while the blade shape is recommended for pets with sensitive skin.

Which side should I use for mats and tangles?

Use the 12-tooth side for stubborn tangles and the 23-tooth side when you want faster grooming, thinning, or de-shedding. The dual-sided design puts both tooth counts on one tool, so you can select the side that suits the grooming task.

• 12 teeth for working on stubborn tangles.
• 23 teeth for faster results, thinning, and removing shed hair.

How is the blade design made for sensitive skin?

The teeth have sharp inner edges and rounded outer edges, a shape intended to offer a safer grooming experience than traditional sickle-shape mat combs. Pet Republique recommends the tool for pets with sensitive skin. The handle is non-slip and ergonomically designed to support a steady grip as you work through the coat.

• Rounded edges on the outside of the blades.
• Non-slip handle for a secure hold during grooming.

Can it be used for more than removing mats?

Yes. In addition to de-matting, the tool functions as a de-shedding comb and an undercoat rake. It is intended for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other long-haired pets, including coats described as long and dense.

• Use it for de-matting, de-shedding, and undercoat grooming.
• Printed instructions are on the back of the package.

What are the teeth made from, and how is the tool made?

The teeth are stainless steel, and the manufacturing process includes quality control. The parts are designed not to become loose or fall apart, and the stainless steel teeth are made to last for years.

• Stainless steel teeth.
• Quality-controlled during manufacturing.
