Tough mats and tangles can make coat grooming more demanding. This tool is made specifically for removing them while preserving coat length, rather than cutting the coat short to clear a tangle. Its blade construction and hand-grip design bring the cutting edge and handling features together in one dedicated de-matting tool for dog grooming.

What is the Master Grooming Tools DeMatting Tool designed to do?

It is designed to remove tough mats and tangles from a dog’s coat without losing coat length. The stainless steel blades cut through mats, helping groomers work on the tangled area while keeping the tool’s purpose focused on de-matting. The tool is intended for both professional and amateur groomers who need a dedicated option for this grooming task.

• Purpose-built for tough mats and tangles.
• Designed to remove mats without damaging the coat.
• Suitable for professional and at-home grooming use.

Can it be used with either hand?

Yes, the reversible design allows right- or left-handed use. The handle has a ribbed rubber surface and a rounded shape intended to sit comfortably in the hand and provide control while grooming. These features make the tool’s handling suitable for groomers who use either hand.

• Reversible for right-handed or left-handed use.
• Ribbed rubber grip.
• Rounded handle shape.

Which blade style and size should I expect?

This product is the 9-blade style, and Master Grooming Tools also offers a 6-blade style. Each tool measures 6¾ in (17.1 cm) long, so the length is consistent across the two blade-style options. The 9-blade version is the selection for shoppers seeking this specific configuration.
