Kerty Round Bale Hay Net for Horses, 5×5 ft, 1.77-Inch Slow-Feed Mesh

Kerty’s round bale hay net is a slow feeder for horses and other livestock, sized 5 × 5 × 5 ft (1.52 × 1.52 × 1.52 m) to fit round bales up to that size and square bales up to 4 × 4 × 8 ft (1.22 × 1.22 × 2.44 m), with 1.77 × 1.77 in (4.5 × 4.5 cm) mesh openings to slow access to hay.

• Knotless, high-strength PP net with a 0.14 in (3.56 mm) diameter — resists tension and weather while avoiding knot friction.
• Twenty self-locking ties and drawstrings — help secure the net around a bale without special tools.
• Repair shuttle and 66 ft (20 m) of repair twine — provide materials for mending the net.
• Designed to keep hay gathered rather than scattered or trampled — helps reduce feed waste.
• Suitable for horses, cattle, sheep and goats, in stables or outdoors — supports feeding across different livestock settings.

Loose hay can be scattered, trampled into the ground or eaten quickly. This net holds hay together while restricting access through its mesh, making it useful for routine bale feeding at a stable or outdoors. Its slow-feeding design encourages animals to take hay through smaller openings, rather than pulling freely from an uncovered bale.

What bale sizes does the Kerty hay net fit?

The Kerty hay net fits round bales up to 5 × 5 × 5 ft and square bales up to 4 × 4 × 8 ft. Its overall 5 × 5 × 5 ft size gives it capacity for large bales, while the mesh slows access as animals feed. For correct placement, arrange the net so its largest surface area contacts the ground.

• Works with both round and square bales within the stated maximum dimensions.
• Large openings make it easier to fill the net with hay.
• Drawstrings tighten around the bale to hold the net in place.

How does the mesh support slow feeding?

The 1.77 in square openings meter access to the hay, encouraging slower eating and more thorough chewing. The design imitates natural grazing habits and is intended to support digestion and healthy weight; slower feeding may also help reduce the risk of digestive problems such as colic. The net’s knotless construction avoids the rubbing points created by tied mesh knots, helping reduce tooth wear from contact with the net.

• Made from high-strength polypropylene, or PP, with a 0.14 in diameter.
• The knotless mesh avoids friction between knots that can contribute to breakage.
• PP material is described as weather-resistant for use in demanding conditions.

What comes with the Kerty round bale hay net?

The set includes one 5 × 5 ft hay net, one repair shuttle, 20 black self-locking ties and 66 ft of repair twine. Large net openings allow hay to be loaded, then the drawstrings and ties help close and secure the net around the bale. No special tools or skills are needed for this setup.

• Use the included repair shuttle and twine to mend the net when needed.
• The ties add support for securing the net in position.
• Keep the net’s largest surface in contact with the ground during use.

This feeder suits horse owners and livestock keepers who want to slow access to large bales while keeping hay gathered in a stable or outdoor feeding area. It accommodates the stated round- and square-bale limits and includes basic repair supplies, making it a practical fit for bale-based feeding routines.
