The AQQA Power-Driven Double Biochemical Water Filter is an aquarium sponge filter designed to filter and oxygenate aquarium water, with a power-driven design that operates without an air pump.
For fishkeepers, a filter needs to capture floating debris while supporting a suitable environment for fish and other aquarium inhabitants. This filter brings sponge filtration and water movement together for freshwater and saltwater ornamental tanks, including planted tanks and breeding setups.
The AQQA filter uses its 9-layer ribbed sponge for physical filtration and biological filtration, while its outlet provides oxygenation. The sponge catches fine particles and floating debris; the outlet rotates 360 degrees so you can direct the flow around the aquarium. Ceramic bio filter balls sit in a media container to provide additional cleaning power.
The small filter is suggested for aquariums holding 10 to 40 gallons (37.9 to 151.4 L), while the large filter is suggested for 15 to 55 gallons (56.8 to 208.2 L). Compare your tank capacity and the filter dimensions with the available space before choosing a size.
The small filter measures 6 inches (15.24 cm) wide by 11 inches (27.94 cm) high; its sponge is 1.97 inches (5.00 cm) wide by 4.33 inches (11.00 cm) high, with a 0.51-inch (1.30 cm) inner-circle diameter. The large filter measures 6.3 inches (16.00 cm) wide by 11 inches (27.94 cm) high; its sponge is 2.36 inches (5.99 cm) wide by 5.12 inches (13.00 cm) high, with a 0.62-inch (1.57 cm) inner-circle diameter.
Attach the filter underwater using its two suction cups, then adjust the retractable outlet pipe to set the outlet height and water-flow direction. The four sponges can be removed for cleaning or replacement. Rinse or squeeze them in aquarium water rather than tap water.
The AQQA filter suits keepers of shrimp, bettas, tropical fish and other ornamental fish, as well as planted and breeding aquariums. Its sponge design traps floating debris and helps protect baby fish from being drawn into the filter. It is designed for freshwater and saltwater use, with size options for the stated aquarium capacities.
